If you haven’t already introduced your body to these foods, then you should consider checking them out and giving them a chance to re-vitalize your system. There are some common and not so common ingredients in the list. If you consider them common, then consider consuming them more often. I guarantee you will feel better physically, mentally and spiritually.

Cacao

Oh ye delicious chocolate, fill my soul with warmth and my mouth with watering goodness. Dark chocolate is good and Raw/unsweetened is ideal. Extremely high source of magnesium of which the majority of the population is deficient. Without being technical, Magnesium makes everything run good. Cacao is also the highest known source of antioxidants….And no, Mars bars do not count as a legitimate source of Cacao.

Maca

This Peruvian Adaptogen root vegetable is the highest altitude crop in the world and grows at elevations in excess of 3500m. It is Extremely rich in Amino Acids and Fatty Acids and is amazing for endocrine support and hormonal balance. This is one of my favourites for sure. Look for it in your organic market or health food store or check out Organic Maca at Sunfood.com.

Hemp Seeds

Great source of amino acids and essential fatty acids. They make any salad taste better and mix well into smoothies. And no, they will not make you fail a drug test!

Spirulina/Chlorella

Blue-Green / Green Algae….I call this the Buckley’s of the health food movement. Taste’s horrible but it works! Try mixing in Cinnamon if you are putting Spirulina into your smoothies. Great source of amino acids with a high absorption rate and a very effective way to get your greens. Check out the informational link on Spirulina or the video. This ingredient definitely goes a long way towards supporting your liver/kidneys, helping to keep the body clean.

Citrus Fruits

Eat more of these to stay healthy and happy. Organic and raw Grapefruits, Oranges, Kiwi’s, Tangerines, Lemons, Limes. Support the Liver and everything gets better ie. Physical/Mental/ Spiritual performance. Next time you are feeling particularly testy, have some citrus fruit and see how your mood changes….

Grapes

Among the best to keep the kidneys working at an optimal level. Your kidneys regulate your fluids and blood pressure and need all the help they can get. Next time you have lower/mid back discomfort, try eating a couple handfuls of organic grapes, drink some water and see how you feel….

Water

I don’t care what anyone says, next to air, Water is the greatest thing you can give your body. Drink Fluoride free Spring Water. Do your liver and kidneys a favour and drink more water. Enough said.

I never liked basketball much growing up. I pretty much enjoyed all sports except shootin hoops. I am pretty sure its because the average height in the NBA is ~6’7″ and I am almost a foot shorter standing at 5’9″ so I never really saw it as an option to play at a high level. Either way, basketball just wasn’t something that peaked my interest.

That being said, I found myself watching a basketball highlight show recapping what happened in 2010 the other night and something occurred to me. Out of all the sports, basketball highlights are probably my favourite; I get jacked up when I see basketball highlights. The sheer quality and quantity of absolutely amazing plays in the NBA blows my mind. They far surpass that of the NFL, NHL and MLB when it comes to outstanding plays.

Another thing, you rarely see fighting or a guy laying on the court because a player tried to intentionally hurt him. Basketball can be physical too so why is there much less outright violence than in other sports.

I started to think about why this is the case and I realized that there is a lot of love that basketball players put into their game. If you have ever been to a basketball game, it is absolutely electric! Whenever there is an outstanding play, the players on the bench are on their feet as is the crowd and there are far more outstanding plays than in any other sport I can think of.

It would be amazing to see what would happen if more sports were played for the love of the game instead of the desire to snag a bigger contract.

As anyone who has ever broken any kind of record (not counting the horrible singers out there), the list of ingredients that went into their success is long. This list could include things like Hard Work, Diligence, Confidence, Persistence, Faith etc. It could also have things like Luck and Fluke and Wild Guesses but that certainly isn’t the case here.

I wanted to share a story of success today because I was involved in a monumental record being broken. Since starting my career as a Drilling Consultant, there has been over 100,000 wells drilled in Western Canada of which I have been involved in probably 500; thats over 6 years. I couldn’t find a concrete number of how many oil/gas wells have been drilled in Western Canada throughout the history of the oil patch but I am sure it has surpassed 1 Million.

While I believe there are better ways to produce propulsive energy out there, technology has not been made it economical to transcend the use of non renewable fossil fuels in producing it. And, since it is my goal one day to have my own space ship, I will participate in the extraction of oil and gas in one way or another until a more efficient source of energy reveals itself. I love Energy….kind of fits because we are all made of pure light in the most basic form!

This story begins with a man that some find offensive but once you get to know him, you can’t help but see the timeless qualities he possesses that are all geared towards Ultimate success. This is the type of guy that, if he cleaned toilets or recycled bottles for a living, would be the best damned toilet cleaner or bottle picker on this planet. His Diligence and dedication to service is unparalleled. He is our Drilling Superintendent. The Drilling Superintendent is supposed to be the Drilling Guru in every company. The guy with the most experience and the one everyone looks to for answers when shit goes down.

When drilling a well, several areas must be optimized so that things are done in a timely fashion. In any given hour, the cost of service approaches $2500/hr so every minute, hour or day you save is huge. People come to us to help them drill wells as fast as possible without sacrificing the safety of the people in the field.

On this particular occasion, on a well that I had planned, we were expected to drill a horizontal well using 4 or 5 drill bits in the lateral (where we are drilling sideways in the prospective zone) portion of the well with each bit averaging ~5m/hr. Every time we pull a bit out of the ground, it would’ve cost us ~$55,000 just in downtime to replace the bit including the price of a new bit.

The Little Engine that Could

On several occasions people in the field wanted to pull our first bit for whatever reason and our Drilling Superintendent said No. He did not let their own Fears dictate how he would run his ship. He truly believed that the bit would go all the way in one shot. He has put in the 10,000 hours that it takes to become an expert. In fact, he has probably put in 40,000 hrs. He researched the bits in the area. He sought counsel from others with similar experience. He has surrounded himself with like minded individuals. He remembered his experiences…his failures and success. He had the Confidence and Faith in his own decisions and Intuition to stand with Courage when he could’ve easily given into the Fear portrayed by the naysayers. When things got tough and everyone around him was saying the same thing, he could’ve compromised and gave in but he truly believed that the one lonely bit would reach it’s goal. As luck would have it, it just so happened that this new bit had new technology that came out just months previous to drilling this well, but without the Confidence, Faith, Persistence and Intuition of our Drilling Superintendent, there is no way that bit would’ve made it all the way.

What ended up happening is that we drilled more hours with a PDC bit than anyone has ever done in Western Canada…EVER. In over 1 Million instances, We have transcended all other benchmarks!

While the Specifics of this story probably will not apply to 98% of the people that read this, the Principles certainly will. If you have a Goal or a Dream that you want to reach or become reality, believe with all your being that it is possible. Have Confidence that it will happen before you reach your first milestone. Have Faith that you will acquire the necessary skills along your path to help further your progress. Show Persistence when things get frustrating and the light at the end of the tunnel goes dim. Don’t give into the Fear that others feel for your outlandish endeavors; they do not understand your unwavering Belief. And last but certainly not least, listen to your Intuition because that is God/The Universe speaking to you, coaching you along and showing you the path.

The Road Less Traveled

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

This is going to be a short one….and it should be.

“Lip Service”….”Talk is Cheap”….”Actions Speak Louder Than Words”…”A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words”. All of these Cliches speak to the same problem with Human interaction. People like to talk a big game to sound important, whether to make others feel good or even themselves. I am not very good at small talk…in fact, I can barely stand it. I would rather have a staring competition than talk about nonsense with a stranger, acquaintance or even a friend.

This short post is to remind you to follow through on your words. I don’t care if it takes 1000 days to finish what you started when you opened your mouth; get it done. STAY TRUE TO YOUR WORD! BRING BACK THE HONOUR!….I wonder what would happen in the world if every single person tied up their loose (or is it Lose…lol) ends. Actions drive your performance. Whether it is successful or riddled with frustration and failure. Without action, we do not learn. Take note of all the promises you have made, even in jest or passing, and make good on them. Get it all done….maybe you’ll sleep better

Trust your instinct to the end, though you can render no reason. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have always wondered why people run on the treadmill like little mice on a wheel. You know they hate it so why do they do it? When I was in school, I never understood classmates in gym class that couldn’t stand being active…working up a sweat..working until they are out of breath. You don’t have to be an athlete to be active. I used to hate jogging around in circles to warm up so now I play basketball. I made up a little game to get my body warm and I have fun doing it. I also found a sport that has everything I want…challenge, excitement and everything in between.

Humans ARE NOT sedentary beings so why has the majority of the population become couch potatoes, over weight and COMPLETELY unhealthy. Is it ignorance or human nature to take the easy way out. I used to despise seeing someone who was obese walk out of the convenience store with a Big Gulp and a bag of chips…I actually felt a lot of anger towards them. Does this make me a Hypocrite…probably. I have abused my body before and I am certainly not perfect. This feeling of anger slowly evolved into feelings of compassion and sometimes sadness because I had no idea how I could help them. You certainly can’t walk up to a stranger and swat the garbage out of their hands without doing more damage than good.

Every time I catch an episode of The Biggest Loser, I can’t help but get overwhelmed with Emotion seeing these people make major changes in their life and I pray that everybody can take that first step towards finding their way to a Healthier lifestyle. Without Health, what else is there?

I encourage everyone to work with a coach that knows what they are doing to help them get better. There are no excuses. There are free blogs and magazines all over the internet full of willing, knowledgeable people that know how to get people fitter, stronger and in better shape. Bret Contreras, Ben Bruno and our very own Dynamis Fitness and Lifestyle all have great blogs that will get you motivated to Pull High and Push Hard!

Know this, you don’t have to run mindlessly on a treadmill to get into shape. You don’t have to do things you don’t enjoy doing to stay active. You can do things no body else does to get in shape as long as you are doing something everyday. Go to the gym, take dance classes, run outside, join a team, do yoga, chase your kids around. Some of these practices may not make you the strongest person ever but its certainly going to help your mind, body and soul to release stress and gain momentum towards feeling better. When you feel good, you can help those around you feel good.

A teammate of mine posted this on his Facebook wall and it just goes to show you what can be accomplished when you actually enjoy the activities you participate in. I mean, The Olympics of Aerobics! Top Shelf! haha

Here are a couple videos of movements I do that correlate directly to my sport. I could never understand why I was always training to go UP (Squats, Deadlifts, Cleans etc.) when I am trying to go forward when pushing my sled. My Intuition told me that I should look outside the box and find resisted movements that generate force in a Horizontal vector to compliment my Vertical training. They have helped me tremendously in getting faster pushing my sled. Track down the following study if you want to the know the science behind it.

EFFECTS OF RUNNING VELOCITY ON RUNNING KINETICS AND KINEMATICS

MATT BRUGHELLI,1 JOHN CRONIN,1,2 AND ANIS CHAOUACHI 3

The specifics won’t apply to everyone reading this but the principle does. If you have a goal then follow your instincts on how to prepare yourself to reach that goal. Do not sell yourself short and certainly don’t listen to the naysayers when they say it isn’t possible. When you set your sights on a prize, the universe will conspire with you to give you the tools to get there.

Do not struggle. Go with the flow of things, and you will find yourself at one with the mysterious unity of the Universe. ~Chuang Tzu

What is Life if we do not follow our Dreams?

It is a significant balancing act when you are following your dreams while also attending to your duties…..Check that, it’s a JUGGLING act. You are not always in contact with everything at once but letting things flow as they need to so that you don’t let everything come crashing down at once. This act is full of multi-tasking, Catch 22′s, severe emotional let downs, disappointments and MAJOR TRIUMPHS. The last one is WHY I follow my dreams when I could just as easily fall into the trap of coasting through life as a slave to duties and responsibilities. If all I did was satisfy my DUTY, I would be soulless and empty.

Life is Hard when you Dream. Although I do not like the word Hard. Life is CHALLENGING when you pursue your Dreams. I LOVE Challenges so that is why I put myself through all the heartache to immerse myself in every challenging step.

The trick is to know when to focus on your Duties and when to drop everything to follow your Dreams. Right now I am at the point where I am pulled in several directions but I know that I can focus on my duties while still living the dream. At the same time, I work everyday to bring everything into Harmony so that my Duties are part of my Dream….Once I am able to find Harmony in all that I do, things will come together far greater than I could ever imagine. I had to turn a spot down on my Skeleton team last year because I knew deep down in my heart that I had to fulfill my duties in other areas of my life if I was ever going to be able to compete among the elite in my sport; It has paid off BIG TIME. I also knew that there were several things I could be doing to further my development that I could do while not on that team. Results will follow and I have proof. When I finally let go of the need to be on a team last year, I pushed faster than I ever had and got down the track faster then ever. Letting go of the results allowed me to transcend past performances.

I love the part in The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho) when Santiago’s Woman of the Dessert (Fatima) encourages him to go off on his own to satisfy his desire to pursue his dream. This allows him to complete his Journey so that he may fully immerse himself in his family when he arrives home. My Heart tells me that pursuing my dreams will inspire my children to follow their dreams rather than make them feel alienated because I am not around all the time….I sure hope I am right otherwise I am going to have 2 energetic Rebels on my hands!

One of my All Time Favourite Books

How can one expect to perform at their best when they cannot focus on the task at hand for fear that they are letting people down that depend on them. This is where the balance between selfishness and selflessness comes to play. You need to search deep within yourself to understand when and where you must devote your concentration. If you don’t, everything will crumble. Princess Leia said something to Grand Moff Tarkin that resonated with me even when I was a little boy – “The more you squeeze your fist, the more Star Systems will slip through your fingers”….I didn’t really understand this until I had to multi task. However, do not fight things when everything comes at you all at once. Accept it, surrender to it and understand that it is all a part of the journey.

As long as you keep your head up when shit gets crazy, you will see the lessons to be learned. Situation A can teach you how to be better in Situation B, C or D so even if Situation A sucks, remember that it will make you stronger in other areas of your life. Everything is connected and nothing happens by coincidence. God/The Universe will challenge you only as much as you can handle to further your evolution so do not fight it or you will crumble under the pressure.

PATIENCE, PERSISTENCE AND PERSEVERANCE!

Anytime you undertake a project or follow a path that requires you to learn as you go to reach your goal, you will always face adversity. Know this and understand it and you will not be turned away when you are tested.

Inconveniently, adversity rarely shows its face when you are expecting it and usually shows up when its the last thing you need to deal with, as if the challenge of the task at hand wasn’t enough.

If you want to evolve as a human being then you need to learn how to deal with adversity, negative thoughts and challenges to your definite purpose.

I sometimes wonder why we get put through the fire when we pursue the road towards greatness. Are we being directed by the universe to find another path or is it just a test of our worthiness. Last time I checked, carbon put under immense heat and pressure is transformed into diamonds. DIAMONDS…a precious stone created from an abundant material you find in pencil lead!

Nobody who has ever done great things did it over night. Even if they made it look easy, they were in the trenches, down in the dumps and overwhelmed with adversity at one or several points along the path. Even the least likely to succeed can do it with patience, persistence and perseverance as long as they maintain the right ATTITUDE when it counts.

If you are facing adversity, don’t let it get you down. Just this past week I took a mind numbing charlie horse to my right leg 2 days before my team selection race. I could barely walk and it hurt to think about it, let alone be able to perform at my best. Wasn’t the challenge of the race enough for one person to handle? I was pretty angry at the world for a few hours but instead I talked with people I trust and respect and every person gave me great feedback instead of letting me wallow in misery. The same night, my brother got called up to the NHL to play in L.A with the New Jersey Devils for his first regular season game….a dream he has pursued his whole life and has gone through tough times to get there.

Don’t keep things to yourself and look for solutions instead of lamenting the problem and you will turn the failure into a learning experience. Keep an open mind so that you can see the opportunities where others see defeat and you will come out of the pressure better adapted.

Next time you feel like quitting because you are overwhelmed by adversity, remember the diamonds!

There is a universal lesson to be learned when flying that not many people recognize. Always secure your oxygen mask before helping others apply theirs. A wise Master put it into more literal text – Be the change you wish to see in the world! ~ Mahatma Gandhi.

This doesn’t just apply to your thoughts and actions but every single thing you do. If you wish for a cure to diseases of the body and mind, then reduce the amount of toxic food you consume and ask others to do the same. If you wish to cure anger, hatred and suffering then seek out the beauty in every moment and search for unconditional peace and love. Become a promoter instead of an anti-_____. Mother Theresa declined a suggestion that she join the anti-war movement and said she would be front and centre when the pro-peace movement came calling.

The primary purpose of this article is to encourage you to seek out your passion, whatever that may be, and figure out a way to turn it into your profession. Greed is a powerful temptation and too many people invest in others to make only money, before they invest in their own ambitions. Look at what happens to millions of people when the stock markets or real estate markets crash. When you invest in a company, how do you know that the principals act out of integrity or honesty rather than just the bottom line. Find the confidence within you to invest in yourself!

When you are doing what you love to do, even if it’s only in your spare time to start, reality takes on a whole new light. Fulfillment in the workplace becomes possible and your miserable job finally has meaning. Spare time will progress into part time and part time will progress into full time. PATIENCE, PASSION, PERSISTENCE. I know from personal experience that this takes a while so don’t expect things to happen over night. I can tell you however that once you take that first step towards living and working your dreams (your definite purpose), serendipitous events take place, you meet people that are on the same wavelength that are willing to help you and momentum starts to build until you are working your passion full time and actually making money!

Life is full of polarity. If you want to be selfless, you must be selfish too. You must strive to be a better person before you can ever help someone else become better. This rings true in relationships. If things are not working, put down the magnifying glass and look in the mirror.

If you haven’t checked out the video in “SUSTAINABLE DRIVERS“, Watch It! I wrote this song as a tribute to this topic,

A great book to listen to is POUR YOUR HEART INTO IT ~ Howard Schultz (Founder of Starbucks). While I do not drink coffee anymore (the whole toxic substance thing), Howard Schultz does a great job in testifying how important it is to strive to live your Passion through Patience and Persistence.

When you choose to live your dreams, you will inspire others to live theirs and so on. The Unconditional Love for life and Infinite Peace you will experience, because you are waking up everyday to do what you Love to do will be Contagious!

So next time you decide to keep the headphones in one ear when the flight attendant is telling you to apply your own mask before helping others apply their’s, remember to invest in yourself, unleash your soul and share your heart with everyone you meet.

Check out this powerful video of the momentum that is created once you commit to something that is impossible to accomplish on your own but in your heart you believe to be possible!!!

Flexibility Cont. – The use of props is key for increasing your flexibility when you don’t have a stretching partner or a physiotherapist that you can afford to pay to help you stretch. Check out the two videos. Relieving tension via stretching is key to managing stress placed on the body. In my video, I give you a little demo of some effective 3D tension release techniques you can do before bed that will help you sink into the mattress as soon as you lay down. It does wonders for my comfort. You can also do this type of stuff at your desk at work.

Lift Heavy Stuff – I don’t know how many times I have had a stress filled work day only to be cured by going to the gym and getting sweaty. Lifting heavy weight requires you to focus which in turn will take your mind off of anything that may have been troubling you. Sweating will help your body flush toxins. Ever wonder why your body odour smells? Release of Toxins. If your body is clean, your body odour will be minimal. Since starting a very disciplined detox, I don’t wear deodorant (which is toxic from the chemicals) and even when I work up a heavy sweat I hardly notice a smell. Ask my wife, I made sure she gave me an unbiased opinion just in case I wasn’t being delusional; TMI? Maybe. Valuable Insight? Definitely. Finally, Lifting heavy weights will release endorphins which can produce a feeling of euphoria and it feels awesome to lift more than you ever have before when you hit a personal best. This video shows my PB in Deadlift. This obviously stresses the body but with plenty of rest, water and proper nutrition to aid in recovery, the body will become stronger and the next time I do this, it won’t be so tough. Stress breeds adaptation if you embrace it and manage it properly.

Run until you are out of Breath – MORE ENDORPHINS. They almost feel as good as seeing DOLPHINS! I don’t know about you but whenever I decide to spontaneously break out into a run, it feels so damn good.

Support the Liver/Kidneys – This is probably one of the most important things you can do to improve the Quality of your Life. I can testify to this as I have been very focused on this recently. It is remarkable how instant the results are once you understand the concepts of what your body is telling you; when your Liver/Kidneys are happy and when they are overwhelmed. Read through the two linkesposted by Roger Bezanis since he has made these connections that I have never seen anywhere else. He is a Master in Nutritional High Performance. Your body is very smart and understanding the role of how your Liver/Kidneys work and what foods they like/dislike will change your life forever! It seems so simple but fortunately we were created to be highly efficient, self sustaining organisms. Detox for Life! I expect to be doing a post in the future completely dedicated to these two organs because that is how important I feel the concepts are. Great Info on the Liver. Great Info on the Kidneys.

Take Care of the Little Things – STOP PROCRASTINATING. Putting off until tomorrow what you should’ve done yesterday is a surefire way to get stressed out. When you think of doing something, then do it NOW. I am constantly striving to conquer Procrastination and it feels so good when you get things done.

Be of Service to Others: It is remarkable how easy it is to forget about your worries when you are helping others and putting your desires second to the greater good. Volunteering your time is very fulfilling and certainly helps to put things in perspective. Even something as simple as holding the door for someone can be internally rewarding.

Harmonize your Needs and Wants: Every experience we have on this earth, “good” or “bad”, is exactly what we need to become more in tune with our definite purpose. Unfortunately it is not always what we want. Bringing your needs and wants into Harmony with each other will go a long way towards reducing anxiety and stress.

Rock Out!- Turn up the Music, Pump your Fist, Shake your Booty and Busta Move! Having spontaneous fun is a great way to relieve stress and I can’t tell you enough how important it is to approach ordinary things with Child-like Wonder!

Stress can be managed and conquered and I encourage you to experiment with different ways to do both and it will free up your energy to be doing exactly what you are meant to be doing.

Stress Management Part 1

I haven’t always been laid back and relaxed. I actually still get pretty intense sometimes. The difference is, I can usually Stay Composed when it counts. I have learned many things over the years that have helped me manage and conquer stress even when I feel like running my head through the wall just to release the tension! I think today’s post is very relevant because today is my 29th Birthday and while some people get stressed out as they approach 30, I am enjoying every minute of aging as I become wiser.

I have already laid the groundwork in previous posts and here I will elaborate and expand on those points. I want to share these tips with you so you can Stay Composed when it counts in your own life. It is a beautiful thing when you are in a situation where everyone is freaking out and you breeze through it under control and come to a solution. A great post by @FairieMoonChild on twitter was “Why panic when you can be calm?” – Powerful stuff.

If I am repeating myself in any way on some points it is because that is how you learn. Understanding is bred from repetition.

Polish Your Attitude. - Negative Thoughts, Words and Actions are radioactive….literally. The energy you project affects you and everyone around you. Complainers breed complainers and are usually the ones always saying “Ohhhh, I’m soooo stressed out!”. The whole Fear leads to Anger, Anger leads to Hate, Hate leads to Suffering concept brought to us by the Powerful Yoda wasn’t just a sweet line in a movie. Watch the Masaru Emoto movie again in my last post and really ponder on this. Search deep inside and please for the Love of Peace on Earth maintain a positive attitude as often as you can. Yes, I understand, when shit goes sideways it’s challenging to stay positive but at a bare minimum keep it to yourself or only share with someone who is not going to indulge you. Next time you feel like whining watch this video…BAHAHA. I love it!…I am laughing right now watching it.

Breath Slow and Deep – I pretty much covered all I need to on this in “Foundational Factor to High Performance”. There are not many rules or guidelines to meditation and prayer but becoming conscious of your breathing will certainly improve the productivity of both.

Stay Hydrated – ALL DAY. Your body needs to be constantly circulating and dismissing fluids to flush toxins. Watch this video by Roger Bezanis,

Stay Grounded – If you haven’t tried this out then give it a shot and remember how good it feels. Then do it as often as possible. Barefoot, Barefoot, Barefoot. It feels so good. Not to mention the reflexology is money when you get the grass between your toes. I also highly recommend going out and getting a pair of Vibram Five Fingers…they will change your life – ask anyone who has a pair. Although wearing these shoes will not promote grounding, they will stimulate different parts of the body due to reflexology.

Improve your Flexibility…DAILY! If you do Yoga, Great. Keep it Up!…And its not just for girls in tight yoga pants . Flexibility will lead to greater performance in every sport. Stretching will also stimulate blood flow helping your body to detox. Coach Gambetta was quoted as saying that Flexibility is improved and lost Daily so be consistent.

Increase your intake of Magnesium. Magnesium is zapped when you are under stress and it is the highest reported mineral deficiency in the North American diet. Magnesium along with Silicate is what forms Calcium in your bones. The list of problems caused by a Magnesium deficiency as well as the list of bodily functions that require Magnesium is a mile long. Daily intake of Cacao is your best bet. It is the highest natural source of Magnesium on the planet and also reported as the highest source of anti oxidants until some MLM company comes up with a better one. And I don’t mean Milk Chocolate. I mean Raw, Unsweetened Cacao. Put a TBLSP in your smoothies. I don’t eat yogurt anymore but it tastes excellent in yogurt. Other great sources of Magnesium are RAW Almonds and RAW Pumpkin Seeds. You can order Cacao by clicking on the Sunfood banner, Navitas Naturals banner or going to your local organic market and picking some up. I encourage you to do your own research on the benefits of Magnesium but I will elaborate a bit more in part 2.
